A furniture style that has, quite literally, lived throughout the ages is antique furniture. Obviously, by definition antique furniture wasn’t always vintage - it had to start somewhere after all. But it does show that some fashions were either so great they never left, or they simply made a return many years later.

Shabby chic, is in itself a tribute to antique furniture. It is a style where furniture and accessories are chosen purposefully for their worn-out and weathered appearance. The truth is, many shabby chic items are actually brand new and have no vintage to them, but are simply painted or bleached to make the colours seem to be washed out.
