A well planned and built home garden can look beautiful and be a relaxing place to wind down on a summer’s evening.
You don’t have to be a design guru to come up with a good garden design - the concepts behind creating a design for your garden are quite simple.
Decide what you want to use your garden for
The most important thing to work out is what you really want to get out of your garden. Do you just want a place to site and relax? Do you want to grow your own food? Or do you want your garden to be a showcase?
Assess your resources
Once you’ve decided what you will be using your garden for, you need to work out things like how much space you have to work with, the type of soil in the area and other surrounding influences.
Set up your basic design
A simple drawing of how you plan to lay out your garden and its various features will normally do. Draw out where you want flower beds, paths and patios. You could even think about adding a Ground Force-style water feature!
Now you have your layout you can move onto the actual grunt work - buying the necessary plants and materials and getting the garden in the shape you envisaged.
Finishing touches
Now you have your garden laid out and looking as you wanted, you can begin to work on the finishing touches such as hiding unsightly drains with plant stands, or softening edges by allowing plants or shrubs to overspill pathways slightly.
Be aware that your garden is a living organism, so be sure to allow for the growth of many of your features, and be sure to maintain it in the image you’ve worked so hard to achieve!

For most people the home represents a place that is safe and secure, a place that you keep the things most important to you. Here are a few areas that you can look at improving home security, helping to reduce insurance costs and generally improve peace of mind.
Doors and Windows
The obvious upgrade for your windows and doors is to invest in high quality locks. Window locks for the windows (obviously!), mortice locks on doors and a decent padlock on any gates or sheds.
Driveway
If you have a driveway, a security light is a great way of deterring a burglar. At night it will obviously draw attention to anyone trying to get into your home. If you have a motorbike and no garage or other secure building to store it in, a deep rooted “pin” in the driveway that you can secure a chain around to tie down your motorbike will certainly help to get cheap motorbike insurance.
Alarm System
Alarm systems are one of the best burglar deterrents available - motion sensor in each room will detect a person moving or a door opening at times when it shouldn’t be, setting off the alarm. There are even systems available that notify the police directly when they go off.

Building a basic garden shed, with the right materials and tools, can be quite a simple and rewarding task. Working away in a secure, waterproof and well ventilated shed can help increase your productivity when working on your DIY projects.
You can of course take it a step further, adding extra security, lighting and even a heating system to make you that more comfortable.
The first step to building your basic garden shed is to set out your foundation, normally a solid concrete pad on which to build the shed structure (walls and roof!). Then once you have your shed structure up, your will need to waterproof the roof by adding a roof felt. Finally this will leave you with just the finishing touches to iron out, such as the inside layout and adding a padlock for security.

Redecorating your dining room well is no easy task - you have to ensure the colour scheme, style and furniture match the ambiance of your other rooms while keeping the costs from spiraling out of control. One area that will undoubtedly take a big cut of your budget is the cost of buying a new dining table.
You could go for a standard IKEA option, try to find a bargain at auction or go all out and have your dining furniture custom made. Whichever option you go for, you will need to ask yourself a series of questions.
Once you have answers to these questions and you have a good idea of what your budget is, finding the right dining table for you will become that much easier.
Once you have your dining table, the next step will be to source the rest of your dining furniture, and move onto the fun part of actually redecorating! By now you will most probably know if a wallpapered or painted finish is best to suit the rest of your dining room arrangement.
